St. Maries, Idaho – It wasn’t long after this hospital employee was hired, things outside of Benewah Community Hospital’s walls started looking better. The tulips, daffodils and flowering bushes we see now are a result of the hard work Susie Buchanan put into the grounds around the hospital and clinic last fall. Susie was named Benewah Community Hospital’s Employee of the Year this week for her outstanding work in improving the appearance of the hospital. The award was determined through a vote among all staff. She is employed as the groundskeeper in the hospital’s maintenance department.
“Susie is deserving of this recognition because of her exceptional job performance,” said BCH Director of Operations Debbie Kerns. “She is a talented gardener and has done a wonderful job improving the appearance of the hospital. The flowers and neat landscaping makes us all feel better. She takes great pride in her work.”
The announcement was made during a Hospital Week celebration luncheon for employees. Susie was awarded an engraved plaque and a $200 gift certificate. | |
