Benewah Community Hospital Receives $25,000 GrantFor Electronic Medical Record System
St. Maries, Idaho – Benewah Community Hospital recently received a $25,000 grant from the State Office of Rural Health and Primary Care for the implementation of an Order Entry System, an electronic medical record module, which will enable the facility to access and share critical patient information with healthcare providers across the region. The system will help to reduce duplication of diagnostic procedures and improve patient safety.
The Order Entry System will allow BCH/SMFM staff, including physicians, nurses, radiology and lab technicians, dieticians and patient billing personnel to communicate with other departments electronically and will allow for a more complete and expedient patient record. This record will be able to travel within our facility as well as to other hospitals in the region.
“BCH strives to improve the quality of healthcare to our community by strengthening our Health Information Technology infrastructure,” said BCH CEO Brian Nall. “The new Order Entry system will allow BCH to provide a more complete patient medical record to any of our providers along the continuum of health care in the region.”
