The hospital expansion project will begin in the Fall of 2010 and take about two years to complete, adding 60,000 square feet of new space and 75 new parking spaces.
Our Family is Growing
While great efforts have been made to modernize through the years, Benewah Community Hospital’s facilities have limitations that can no longer be overcome. After more than 50 years of service, they now require a renovation and expansion to update old buildings and house new medical technology. The cost for the project, estimated at $28.5 million, will not be paid by increased taxes. The debt will be paid from hospital revenues. The hospital building project will include an expanded emergency department, a new clinic, new private patient rooms and additional parking. Areas such as physical therapy, radiology, cardiopulmonary and the lab would be enlarged to accommodate technologically advanced equipment.
The project is expected to begin in Fall 2010 and take about 24 months to complete. | |
