Benewah Community Hospital’s rehabilitation department is dedicated to providing physical therapy and occupational health services devoted to treating, healing and preventing injuries and disabilities. Therapists are trained to help patients relieve pain and discomfort, regain movement and promote healing through a variety of treatments, including massage therapy.
Occupational Therapy services include the following:
- Increasing energy conservation
- Enhancing cognitive skills
- Improving fin-motor skills
- Assisting with Activities of Daily Living
- Ergonomics
Physical Therapy services include:
- McConnell taping for shoulders and knees
- Work hardening and work conditioning
- Lumbar stabilization
- Treatment for Sport injuries; work and accident injuries; Sprains, Tendonitis, Bursitis and Arthritis; Neurological disorders: Parkinson’s Disease, Stroke or Muscular Dystrophy ; and systemic diseases like diabetes.
