The Tradition of Topping Out - Friday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m.,
Federal Building Parking Lot. Free BBQ Lunch following ceremony
The “Topping Out” ceremony celebrates the moment when the last beam is placed at the top of the building under construction. Construction workers, BCH staff and St. Maries Community members sign the beam before it is ceremoniously raised into place, carrying with it an American Flag and often an evergreen tree. With roots in medieval Europe, the ceremony represents goodwill and good fortune to those who enter the building. Join us on Friday, August 5th at 11:00 a.m. in the Federal Building Parking lot as we watch the beam being placed. Free BBQ Lunch following ceremony.
