POSITION: Pharmacy Director/Pharmacist
SHIFT: Full-Time, (sharing evening and weekend call)
POSITION CLOSES: Open until filled
The Pharmacist provides pharmaceutical care to patients. Compounds and dispenses medications and other pharmaceuticals in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations and hospital policy. Serves as a resource to other healthcare professionals, including physicians and nurses. Consults with nursing staff and patients regarding medications, orders, pharmaceutical details, patient reactions, errors, complaints, and/or the patients’ caregivers. May have responsibility for the assessment, treatment, and/or care of pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Supervises pharmacy technicians. The Pharmacy Manager will manage the pharmacy department and oversee the pharmacy personnel. Will directly supervise 1-3 staff members. This role will be completed with a mixture of on-site and off-site (Tele-Pharmacy) oversight.
- Directly supervises employees in the Pharmacy Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- B.S. or Pharm D. degree from an accredited College of pharmacy required. Residency and/or one to two years hospital pharmacy experience is preferred.
- Basic computer literacy and ability to effectively learn new software programs required. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of current software, Timekeeping Software, and Pyxis system.
- Current Idaho Board of Pharmacy Pharmacist license required. Current Idaho Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substance registration required. Current BLS certification. I.V. certification/eligible.
