Our Chemotherapy Services department is conveniently located on the second floor of Benewah Community Hospital (BCH). Infusion services such as chemotherapy and other intravenous treatment can be exhausting to the patients. At Benewah Community Hospital, we offer comfortable, personal, and individualized care, closer to home. We take a holistic approach to care, working with your doctor as part of your personalized treatment plan that is best for you. Chemotherapy Nurses: Janis Worch, RN – Coordinator and Crystal Butler, RN

Services include but are not limited to:

  • Chemotherapy infusions and injections
  • Chemotherapy education
  • Chemotherapy Pump removal
  • Blood draws and port flushes
  • Blood and Platelet Transfusions
  • Growth Factor administration to maintain blood counts (Neupogen, Neulasta, Epogen)
  • IV Medications and Hydration Therapy

Outpatient Chemotherapy at BCH provides specialized care and individualized treatment for a wide variety of cancers. Any of the above therapies can be ordered by any physician or specialist, regardless of where that physician’s office is located and regardless of whether or not they are on staff at BCH. Just ask your physician to call us at 208-245-7670 to discuss the referral.

We are staffed with experienced, highly trained, compassionate infusion nurses, and we are available for scheduled appointments.

St. Maries Family Medicine: Family Practice Providers and Mid-level practitioners that can oversee your medical needs and coordinate treatment options with your oncologist.

Janis Worch, RN-Chemotherapy Coordinator and Educator. Janis has 24 years in Pediatric (CPON) and Adult Oncology Nursing, and has experience in establishing and running a Tumor Board, Bone Marrow Transplant program, and a Bereavement program.

Our Chemotherapy Program was developed and founded in 1997 by our former Director of Nursing Marie Ross RN. Since then, we have grown to offer more treatment options for our patients.
