POSITION: Floor Technician

SHIFT: Evening shift, number of hours to be discussed

SALARY: DOE

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for overall floor maintenance of hard surfaces and carpet, including but not limited to; stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extraction and bonneting throughout the Hospital and Clinics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Include the following.

  • This position requires the use of specialized power equipment.
  • Comply with all safety requirements and procedures.
  • Perform preventative maintenance check on all equipment prior to use.
  • Secure work area and post proper safety notices prior to beginning work.
  • Perform all aspects of floor care including but not limited to:
    • Routine mopping (dry and damp).
    • Buffing and burnishing all hard surface floors and stairwells.
    • Vacuuming, Shampooing, bonneting, and extracting carpets, stairwells, and upholstery.
  • Routine maintenance of floor care equipment.
  • Complete required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.
  • Comply with established personal protective equipment requirements necessary for protection against exposure to blood and other potentially infectious body fluids, chemical disinfectants, radiation,  and other hazardous substances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • 1 to 3 months experience or training preferred
  • Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to climb a ladder.
  • Ability to work from a ladder.
  • Ability to communicate and follow instructions.
  • Ability to read instructions and complete cleaning reports.
  • Ability to interact with patients and staff professionally and courteously.
