SHIFT: Full Time 36 hrs a week 3 x 12’s   ~    NIGHT SHIFT, open to flexible scheduling conversation, FT, PT,  possible day shifts PT available
SALARY: Hourly Position, DOE
POSITION CLOSES: Open until filled

JOB SUMMARY:

Knows and applies current nursing theory, principles of care and nursing procedures in performing the following functions appropriate to the age of the patient: maintains a safe and clean care environment, quality improvement, assists in the supervision of the Certified Nursing Assistant, actively and consistently contributes to department operations and communications, behaves in a manner consistent with the mission and objectives if Benewah Community Hospital and performs other duties as requested.
JOB DUTIES (include but are not limited to):
Demonstrates the ability to provide and assure the carrying out of
the established nursing procedures utilizing the nursing process, and assuring the maintenance of a safe clean environment. Provides holistic, age appropriate total patient care demonstrating the ability to assess patient and situation needs and problems.
Assist medical provider’s with rounds, treatments and procedures
providing timely noting and implementation of medical provider orders.
Demonstrates thorough, concise and timely documentation, shift
reports and verbal communications. Communicates pertinent patient information and unit information to medical providers, ER manager/ House supervisor, and other appropriate persons while maintaining client confidentiality.
Assists in the coordination of services with medical staff, nursing staff, other departments as well as other providers. Responds rapidly and effectively during emergency situations.
Maintains own clinical skills staying current in competencies, equipment and trends in nursing. Efficiently and effectively provides total patient care including assessment, cares, teaching, care planning, rehabilitation, medication, treatments, activities of daily living, discharge planning, etc. Completes annual competencies.
Assist in the orientation of new personnel.
Serves on committees and attends meetings actively participating. Follows and assists in the implementation if policies and procedures.
Assists in the monitoring, procurement and proper inventory of
supplies. Assists in maintaining equipment. Completes patient charges as appropriate to services providing appropriate documentation of services.
Communicates with others (verbally and in writing) in an appropriate
and timely manner, demonstrating tact, sensitivity, and ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
Current Registered Professional Nurse licensure in the State of Idaho. BLS within 30 days of employment. ACLS/PALS/TNCC

One year experience in ER or Medical/Surgical nursing preferred.
Good verbal and written communication skills
Mathematical Skills; calculate doses, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Computer skills: Able to learn and use any EMR or online educational modules used at BCH.
